A specially formulated low hydrogen electrode with particularly very good welding properties, giving weld metal of very high quality. Weldability is excellent, delivering regular welding behavior. Slag removal is very good. Weld beads are regular and flat. Striking and re-striking is relatively very easy and is therefore ideal for root pass welding. Weld metal recovery is approx. 100% with respect to the core wire, 65% with respect to the whole electrode.
Most suitable for welding heavy duty structures and heavy plates, general engineering steels, high hardening steels, high carbon and sulfur steels, and many other hard-to-weld steels; also suitable as buffer layer prior to hardsurfacing.
