An economical deep penetrating electrode. With its spray-type arc and fast freeze metal gives excellent weldability in all positions. The thin brittle slag is easily removed and resultant weld has a flat appearance with defined ripples
Det Norske Veritas (DnV) : Grade 3
Lloyds Register of Shipping (LR): Grade 3m
Recommended for deep penetration in ship building, high-pressure mild steel pipings, pipe lines, oil well casings, storage tanks, pressure vessels, boilers, freight cars, and other heavy components made of mild steel
Use AC or DC reverse polarity (DC+). Maintain a short to medium arc. Hold perpendicular to the work surface and slightly incline in the direction of travel, keeping size of the molten pool small. Do not allow coating to touch pool. Clean each bead thoroughly before applying the next. Vertical welding can be done starting from the top or the bottom as the work requires. In overhead welding, best results are obtained by the multiple bead method.
