An economical general purpose mild steel electrode for ordinary workshop applications. The electrode operates well on AC or DC with minimum spatter loss. The weld bead has a good appearance peculiar to rutile type electrodes with shallow to medium penetration.
Recommended for construction and repair of mild steel machinery and equipment such as storage tanks, auto parts, truck bodies, sheet metals, farm implements, ornamental iron works, metal furniture, etc.
Use either AC or DC straight polarity (DC-) current. Maintain a short to medium arc holding the electrode perpendicular to the workplace or inclined not more than 15 degrees in the direction of the travel. For performance, joints should be free of rust, dirt oil or grease.
