A basic coated electrode for applications where improved toughness at low temperatures (down to -40 C) is a requirement. Electrode coating is moisture resistant giving a crack free weld deposit with very low hydrogen content. The weld metal contains about one percent (1%) nickel ensuring a refined weld structure.
Highly recommended for welding high steel structures where post weld heat treatment is impractical such as ASTM A333 and 334 Grade 6, API 5L X65 used in offshore construction, pipelines and pressure vessels. Suitable for welding on AC (min. OCV 70V).
