A heavy coated rutile electrode for highly wear resistant overlaying on parts subject to frictional abrasion. Not suitable for impact conditions. Clean and smooth appearance with minimal undercutting. Weld metal recovery with respect to the core wire is about 160 %. Machinable by grinding only.
Particularly suitable for surfacing applications on parts subject to mineral abrasion such as conveyor screws, mixer blades, concrete pump parts, stirring and agitator components, slurry pumps, excavator bucket edges, etc. Caution: When cladding very sensitive base materials a tough buffet layer with WIPWELD MANGACHROM electrodes must be deposited.
