WIPWeld Abrasur 380

A rutile type hardsurfacing electrode that deposits an air-hardening medium chromium alloy with good resistance to impact and abrasion. Hardness is 315-400 BHN depending on number of layers applied. Easy to strike with stable arc, low spatter loss and good running properties allowing successful employment, in all positions.

Applications and Directions

Rail ends and crossings, large cog-wheels and other steel casting, rollers, shear blades, hot-punching dies, plough shares, wobbler ends, cams, caterpillar treads, brake shoes, etc.

Use Ac or DC straight polarity (DC-). Keep a short arc and avoid overheating the base metal. To obtain maximum hardness, multilayer beads are necessary.
