A hardsurfacing electrode with thick basic covering designed for depositing highly wear resistant overlays. It is particularly resistant to impact and shock and possible to deposit even a larger number of layers without the need of intermediate buffer layers. It can be easily welded in all positions except vertical-down.
Suitable for rebuilding of rails, rail crossings and switch points, wear parts such as bearing surfaces, dies, tyres, wheel flanges, dredger parts, polygon edges, slide surfaces subjected to heavy wear etc.
Use DC reverse polarity (DC+) or AC current. Keep the arc as short as possible using just enough current to maintain the smooth flow of the molten slag. In horizontal welding use minimum current practical.
